2017 Season Begins!
The Kenosha Vultures Rugby Football club official started its season on January 4th with an indoor training at the Sturtevant Sports Complex. Training will be every Monday and Wednesday Night from 830-10pm until early March.
The 2017 season will be a season of updating, collaboration and growth. Updates will be found throughout the club this year. The website has been completely redone and is full of resources for players, parents and alumni. Also we will be launching a Kenosha Vulture Facebook Fan Page, Twitter Page and Google group to get team information out to players, parents and fans. Lastly, our indoor practice facility has been significantly upgraded from a gym floor to an indoor turf complex (Sturtevant Sports Plex). A huge thanks goes to Joe Bullis for making finding and securing the space!
On the collaboration front, we will be practicing with the newly formed Kenosha Mammoths Men's Rugby Club. The Mammoths are a local men's team that has been started by some former Vultures and Parkside Rugby players. The addition of experienced players to practice with will help the current Vultures continue to grow there game. Another collaboration that will happening this year is with the Muskego Rugby Club. Muskego players and their coaches will be joining us on Monday nights for indoor training. We will be using Monday nights to work on tackling, rucks, mauls and set piece plays.
Lastly and most importantly this is a year of growth. Recruiting has gotten off to a good start and it is great to see some new faces at practice. Keep up the efforts to bring out new players. The success of our season and future seasons will depend on the recruiting we do this year.
If you have made it this far, you can tell that I am excited for this season and all that it has to bring. We have a great base of talented players that are returning from last year, a coaching staff loaded with experience and a growing support from alumni that will allow us to take great strides as a club. We are always looking for new players and people to help. If you are interested in being a part of the Vultures, contact me at email@example.com
